The inability to conceive a child affects at least 15% of couples worldwide, which is the reason why the significance of infertility treatment has been continuously on the increase. In the Czech Republic there are 30 professional centres specializing in the treatment of infertility. They meet the strictest criteria for quality as well as offering the provided services. The total amount of artificial insemination cycles in the facilities is more than 15,000 each year and the number is increasing. Since opening, the facilities in the Czech Republic have kept up with the best centres from around the world and have many years of experience. The first baby conceived using methods of assisted reproduction in the Czech Republic was as early as in 1982, only four years after the worldwide premiere of the procedure.
